Words can be so carelessly passed around, yet they are fundamental to our interactions and the basis of all of our relationships. Listening and recording conversations and collecting newspaper clippings, headlines and stories I have created new meanings out of disparate combinations of words. I have been influenced by Fiona Banner, Tracey Emin and Gillian wearing and their witty, playful and subversive use of words. Using words from various sources: love poetry, love letters from WWII, text messages, internet chatrooms and forums. By juxtaposing these words with one another I highlight the era they were created in and the essence of their meaning.
